What is an apprenticeship?
An apprenticeship in England is a paid job with structured training. You work for an employer, gain workplace experience and work towards a recognised qualification or standard — often with time for off-the-job learning.

Advanced
Level 3
Often equivalent to A level standard — common across technical and service roles.
Higher
Levels 4–5
Foundation degree or HNC/HND level — for strong school leavers or adults retraining.
Degree
Levels 6–7
Paid work with bachelor’s or master’s level qualifications — including graduate entry.
