1. Acceptance of these Terms
By creating an AlignRole account, signing in or otherwise using the service, you agree to these Terms of Use and acknowledge our Privacy Policy.
If you do not agree, do not use AlignRole.
AlignRole provides this service. These Terms are an operational website draft and are not a substitute for professional legal advice.
2. The AlignRole service
AlignRole is a UK-focused career development platform. It offers a Free plan and paid monthly subscription plans. Access to certain tools depends on your plan. Current plans, prices and included features are shown on our Plans and pricing page.
Signed-in tools may include:
- User profiles and account settings
- Career Discovery and career matching guidance
- CV Builder and My CVs
- Applications tracking
- Interview Coach with saved practice sessions
- Dashboard progress and Civil Service preparation resources (where included in your plan)
Plan features may evolve as AlignRole develops. We may change, improve, add or remove features over time, subject to applicable law and any appropriate notice required for paid plans. We do not guarantee that any particular feature will always be available.
3. Your account
You are responsible for:
- Providing accurate account information
- Keeping your password secure and confidential
- All activity that occurs under your account
- Signing out on shared or public devices where appropriate
You must not create an account for someone else without permission or use a false identity to access the service.
If you believe your account has been accessed without permission, change your password and contact us promptly.
4. Acceptable use
You agree to use AlignRole lawfully and respectfully. You must not:
- Use the service for unlawful, harmful, fraudulent or abusive purposes
- Attempt to access another user’s account or data
- Interfere with or disrupt the service, security controls or infrastructure
- Upload or store content that infringes someone else’s rights or contains unlawful material
- Reverse engineer, scrape or misuse the service in ways that could harm AlignRole or other users
- Use automated means to access the service except as expressly permitted
5. Career guidance and educational limitations
AlignRole provides structured career-development tools and educational guidance. It is designed to support your thinking and preparation — not to replace professional careers advice, legal advice, immigration advice, financial advice or employer-specific recruitment guidance.
Career Discovery results are generated by AlignRole’s transparent scoring model based on the information you provide. They are suggestions and explanations, not guarantees of suitability, employment or outcome.
Interview Coach provides text-based practice questions and checklist-style coaching guidance. It does not use external AI to evaluate your answers and does not provide automated hiring decisions or scores on your behalf.
6. CV, application and interview content
You are responsible for the accuracy, lawfulness and suitability of the information you enter into AlignRole, including CV content, application records and interview practice answers.
AlignRole does not submit applications to employers on your behalf and does not verify that your CV or answers are complete, truthful or appropriate for a particular role.
You remain responsible for reviewing, editing and submitting your own applications and interview responses.
7. No guarantee of outcomes
AlignRole does not guarantee employment, interviews, promotions, job offers, career changes, application success or any other outcome.
AlignRole does not guarantee the accuracy, availability or suitability of third-party job listings, external job sites or other third-party resources you may reach through the service.
Your career decisions remain your responsibility. Employers and other organisations make their own recruitment and selection decisions independently of AlignRole.
8. Intellectual property
AlignRole owns or licenses the website design, software, branding, question banks, guidance text and other materials that make up the service, except for content you provide.
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use AlignRole for your own career-development purposes in accordance with these Terms.
You must not copy, resell, republish or commercially exploit AlignRole materials except as allowed by law or with our written permission.
9. Your content and data
You retain responsibility for the content you enter into AlignRole, including profile details, CVs, application notes and interview practice answers.
You grant AlignRole the rights reasonably needed to store, process, display and back up your content solely to provide and secure the service for you.
You must have the right to submit any content you store in AlignRole and must not infringe third-party intellectual property or privacy rights.
10. Service availability
We aim to keep AlignRole available and working reliably, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access.
The service may occasionally be unavailable because of maintenance, updates, network issues or circumstances outside our reasonable control.
11. Plans, subscriptions and payments
AlignRole offers a Free plan and paid monthly subscription plans. Current plans, prices and included features are displayed on our Plans and pricing page and may be updated from time to time, subject to appropriate notice and applicable law.
At the time of these Terms, the paid monthly plans are:
- Starter — £5.99 per month
- Career Pro — £10.99 per month
- Career Pro+ — £15.99 per month
The Free plan provides access to AlignRole’s discovery experience and other Free features described on the pricing page. Paid plans provide access to additional tools and features as described on the pricing page at the time you subscribe or renew.
Billing and renewal
Paid subscriptions are billed monthly in advance. Payments are processed using Stripe, our current payment processor. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless you cancel before renewal, in accordance with the billing arrangement presented at checkout and in your subscription management area.
Payment information
AlignRole does not directly store your complete payment-card details where Stripe handles those payment details. Stripe processes payment information in accordance with its own terms and privacy policy.
Managing and cancelling your subscription
If you have a paid subscription, you can manage or cancel it through the subscription-management / customer-portal functionality available in AlignRole when signed in. Cancellation is intended to stop future renewals according to your subscription and billing arrangement. Depending on how your subscription is configured at the time of cancellation, you may retain access to paid features until the end of the current billing period already paid for.
Refunds and consumer rights
Except where required by applicable law, subscription payments are generally non-refundable once a paid subscription has been activated and the subscriber has accessed or used paid AlignRole features. Cancelling a subscription prevents future renewals but does not automatically create a refund for amounts already paid. Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes any statutory rights you may have under applicable consumer law.

12. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or restrict access to AlignRole if we reasonably believe you have breached these Terms, misused the service or created security or legal risk.
You may stop using AlignRole at any time and may delete your account from Account & Settings. Account deletion is permanent. See our Privacy Policy for information about what happens to your saved data.
13. Liability
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence or for fraud.
AlignRole is provided for career-development support. To the fullest extent permitted by law, AlignRole is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of opportunity, loss of income, loss of data beyond our reasonable control, or decisions you make based on guidance provided through the service.
Our total liability to you for claims relating to the service shall be limited to the amount you paid us for the service in the 12 months before the claim, or £0 if you have not paid for the service.
14. Third-party links and services
AlignRole may link to third-party websites and resources, including Civil Service and GOV.UK pages, external job sites and Stripe’s payment pages. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, availability or privacy practices.
AlignRole is not affiliated with or endorsed by the UK Civil Service or GOV.UK.
Your use of third-party services is at your own risk and subject to their own terms and policies.
15. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will change the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. If changes are significant, we may provide additional notice where appropriate.
Continued use of AlignRole after updated Terms are posted means you accept the revised Terms, unless applicable law requires a different approach.
16. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
If you are a consumer, you may also benefit from mandatory protections under the laws of the part of the United Kingdom in which you live.
Disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, except where mandatory consumer law provides otherwise.
